The ANNKE NNR168 / N961BB is a 16 channel non PoE network video recorder for larger IP CCTV systems that use separate PoE switches, injectors or network infrastructure. It supports high resolution cameras, up to 32MP playback on a single channel in Ultra HD mode, specialist camera functions such as ANPR and fisheye, and fast USB 3.0 backup.

Built for Switched IP CCTV Networks
The NNR168 has no integrated PoE camera ports. This makes it well suited to structured networks where cameras are powered from dedicated PoE switches and the recorder is connected to the same LAN. It can therefore sit in a secure rack or communications area without every camera cable terminating directly at the NVR.
High Resolution Playback
Ultra HD mode supports one 32MP channel at up to 30 fps. Playback capability scales across lower resolutions, including two 12MP, four 8MP, eight 4MP or sixteen 1080p channels depending on stream configuration.
Specialist Camera Integration
Where the connected camera supports the function, the NVR can integrate specialist features including fisheye views, people counting, heatmap and automatic number plate recognition.
Storage and Backup
Two SATA bays support up to 10 TB per drive according to ANNKE's recorder specification. USB 3.0 on the rear panel provides a faster route for compatible local backup devices.
Compatibility Note
Because this is a non PoE NVR, cameras require a separate PoE switch, injector or other suitable power source. Confirm ONVIF, resolution and smart function compatibility for third party cameras before ordering.
Recommended ANNKE PoE cameras for the ANNKE NNR168
The six ANNKE cameras below are practical pairing options for standard IP video, live view and recording with the ANNKE NNR168, within the recorder’s published resolution, channel and bandwidth limits. This is a non-PoE recorder. Power and connect these cameras through a suitable IEEE 802.3af PoE switch or injector on the same network before adding them to the NVR.

To see the full 4K detail: use a compatible 4K television or monitor and select a supported 4K output setting on the recorder. A lower-resolution display cannot show all the detail captured by an 8MP camera.
Recommended for standard IP video, live view and recording within this recorder’s published resolution and bandwidth limits. Camera-side AI, two-way audio, siren, strobe and Smart Dual Light controls can depend on recorder model, firmware and channel settings.

Important compatibility definition: standard video recording compatibility does not automatically guarantee every advanced camera feature on every recorder. Two-way audio, camera-side AI/smart events, active deterrence, white-light controls, panoramic display and PT control may depend on the NVR firmware and channel configuration. Which cable gives the most reliable PoE connection?
Use genuine solid-copper Cat6 cable, correctly terminated and tested. Avoid CCA cable. A standard Ethernet channel is normally limited to 100 metres end to end; for outdoor routes use a suitable outdoor-rated cable and weatherproof the RJ45 connection.
Why are these pairings recommended?
All six cameras use standard network video, H.265/H.265+ encoding and IEEE 802.3af PoE, and their 3K, 8MP or 12MP resolutions sit within this recorder’s published camera-resolution capability. Final system design should still account for total incoming bandwidth, decoding limits, simultaneous playback requirements and PoE power budget.
