Tools & Accessories

Choose CCTV tools and accessories for a wired security-camera installation, from Ethernet cables and RJ45 cable joiners to PoE switches, cable testers, HDMI connections and network cabinets. HawkVision Pro supplies UK homeowners, businesses and installers; choose each component around the exact camera, recorder and cable route.

Choose accessories for your CCTV installation

• Camera connections: custom-length solid-copper Cat6 Ethernet cable for compatible PoE camera runs, and RJ45 female-to-female Ethernet cable joiners when joining suitable patch leads.
• Network expansion: a 16-port PoE CCTV switch for compatible IP cameras connected through the LAN. Check the recorder's channel limit, network bandwidth and the switch's power budget.
• Mounting: CCTV junction boxes and camera brackets selected by fixing-hole pattern, cable entry and installation environment.
• Display connections: armoured HDMI AOC fibre optic cable or a 1080p HDMI extender over Cat5e/Cat6. Match the display resolution and connection method to the exact product.
• Installation checks: ANENG M469D network cable tester for basic cable checks; consult the product page for supported tests.
• Equipment organisation: compare 6U and 9U wall-mount network cabinets. Measure equipment depth, ventilation space and cable clearance before choosing.

Solid-copper Cat6 cable for PoE CCTV

Our custom-length Kenable Cat6 service uses genuine solid-copper cable, prepared and tested by HawkVision Pro. Select the correct indoor or outdoor cable and shielding option on the product page. This copper assurance applies to that custom-length cable service; it should not be assumed for every cable in the catalogue.

For a new PoE installation, we recommend this solid-copper Cat6 option. Camera resolution alone does not make Cat6 compulsory: suitable Cat5e can also support many standard PoE CCTV installations. Check the camera's requirements, cable quality, length, termination and power source.

Before buying CCTV accessories

For a complete recording system, start with PoE IP cameras, a compatible NVR recorder and surveillance hard drive. Existing coaxial systems normally need compatible analogue cameras and a DVR. Ethernet components and HDMI extenders perform different jobs and cannot be substituted for one another.

CCTV accessory questions

Can I extend an Ethernet cable with an RJ45 coupler?

A compatible straight-through female-to-female RJ45 coupler joins two suitable Ethernet leads. It does not boost the signal, restore a damaged cable or increase the supported total cable distance. Check the cable category and PoE requirements before using it.

Is an RJ45 cable joiner waterproof?

Our white Cat5e inline coupler is not waterproof. Protect outdoor connections inside an appropriate sealed enclosure with suitable cable entries. A weather-resistant camera does not make exposed cable connections weatherproof.

Will a PoE switch add more NVR recording channels?

No. A PoE switch provides network connections and power to compatible cameras. It does not increase the recorder's licensed or supported camera-channel capacity.

Can an HDMI extender connect through a normal network switch?

Do not assume it can. Some HDMI-over-Cat6 extenders require a direct dedicated cable between the transmitter and receiver. Follow the specific extender's instructions rather than treating its RJ45 sockets as ordinary Ethernet ports.

Which accessories are included in a CCTV kit?

Read the exact kit contents. Cameras, recorder and storage may be included while Ethernet cabling, junction boxes, HDMI leads and installation remain separate. Order only the extra components your installation needs.
