32 Channel Capacity for Larger Sites
The NNR3212 is aimed at larger IP CCTV systems where cameras are distributed across one or more network switches. All 32 cameras connect through the LAN rather than directly into the recorder, giving installers flexibility when cameras are spread across buildings, floors or network cabinets.
12MP Recording and H.265+
The recorder accepts up to 12MP IP camera streams and uses H.265+ compression to reduce storage and bandwidth requirements compared with older codecs while retaining high resolution evidence.
Four Bay Surveillance Storage
Four SATA interfaces support up to 8 TB per drive according to ANNKE's N84PBH specification, providing up to 32 TB total installed capacity.
AI Motion Detection
Compatible camera streams can use AI assisted motion classification to help focus events on people and vehicles. Actual analytics availability depends on the connected camera and recorder configuration.
Compatibility Note
This model has no built in PoE camera ports. Cameras require separate PoE switches, injectors or another suitable power source. Confirm camera resolution, ONVIF/network compatibility and smart feature support before ordering.
Recommended ANNKE PoE cameras for the ANNKE NNR3212
The six ANNKE cameras below are practical pairing options for standard IP video, live view and recording with the ANNKE NNR3212, within the recorder’s published resolution, channel and bandwidth limits. This is a non-PoE recorder. Power and connect these cameras through a suitable IEEE 802.3af PoE switch or injector on the same network before adding them to the NVR.
These combinations are recommended from HawkVision Pro’s practical installation experience and the requirements customers most often bring us. Keeping the camera and recorder within the ANNKE ecosystem generally delivers a higher level of setup harmony, easier device discovery and more predictable support than a mixed-brand ONVIF system.
HawkVision Pro First ChoiceFeatured 4K PoE camera
Our first-choice 4K camera for an excellent balance of native image detail, useful deterrence features and value. The I91DS is a popular choice with installers and customers who want dependable 4K evidence without moving to a much higher price tier.
- Native 3840 × 2160 4K/8MP video
- AI human and vehicle detection
- Smart Dual Light, siren and strobe deterrence
- Two-way audio, PoE and IP67 outdoor protection
To see the full 4K detail: use a compatible 4K television or monitor and select a supported 4K output setting on the recorder. A lower-resolution display cannot show all the detail captured by an 8MP camera.
Recommended for standard IP video, live view and recording within this recorder’s published resolution and bandwidth limits. Camera-side AI, two-way audio, siren, strobe and Smart Dual Light controls can depend on recorder model, firmware and channel settings.

Important compatibility definition: standard video recording compatibility does not automatically guarantee every advanced camera feature on every recorder. Two-way audio, camera-side AI/smart events, active deterrence, white-light controls, panoramic display and PT control may depend on the NVR firmware and channel configuration. Contact HawkVision Pro before ordering if any of these functions is essential.
Which cable gives the most reliable PoE connection?
Use genuine solid-copper Cat6 cable, correctly terminated and tested. Avoid CCA cable. A standard Ethernet channel is normally limited to 100 metres end to end; for outdoor routes use a suitable outdoor-rated cable and weatherproof the RJ45 connection.
Why are these pairings recommended?
All six cameras use standard network video, H.265/H.265+ encoding and IEEE 802.3af PoE, and their 3K, 8MP or 12MP resolutions sit within this recorder’s published camera-resolution capability. Final system design should still account for total incoming bandwidth, decoding limits, simultaneous playback requirements and PoE power budget.
Do I need a PoE switch to use PoE cameras with this Non-PoE NVR?
Yes. This NVR has no built-in PoE camera ports. PoE cameras must be powered and connected through a separate PoE switch or PoE injector on the same network before they can be added to the NVR. The PoE cameras listed above are compatible network cameras, but they do not plug directly into this recorder.
Can I use two 16-port PoE switches with a 32-channel Non-PoE NVR?
Yes. A 32-channel Non-PoE NVR such as the ANNKE NNR3212 can use two separate 16-port PoE switches, provided all cameras and the NVR are connected to the same IP network and the total camera traffic stays within the recorder's network bandwidth limits.
A typical layout is: 16 cameras to PoE Switch A, another 16 cameras to PoE Switch B, then both switches uplink to the same router or core network switch. The NVR connects to that same LAN and the cameras are added by their IP addresses. The two PoE switches do not both need to plug directly into the NVR.
-
Use Gigabit uplinks between each PoE switch and the main network to reduce the risk of a bottleneck.
-
Give every camera a unique IP address on the correct subnet so the NVR can discover or manually add each device.
-
Keep the combined camera bitrate within the NVR limit. The NNR3212 supports up to 160 Mbps incoming bandwidth, so 32 cameras must be configured so their total main-stream bitrate stays below that figure with sensible headroom.
-
Check the PoE budget of each switch. Each 16-port switch must have enough total PoE power for the cameras connected to it.
-
Avoid unnecessary daisy-chaining. Connecting both PoE switches to the same router or core switch is usually cleaner and avoids putting all camera traffic through one intermediate switch.
This is a standard IP CCTV network design: the NVR records cameras over Ethernet, while the PoE switches provide camera power and network connectivity. If you are planning a full 32-camera system, HawkVision Pro can help check the expected bitrate, PoE power budget and uplink layout before installation.
