CCTV Leicester | PoE Cameras, NVRs & DVRs | HawkVision Pro

Planning CCTV for a Leicester home, shop, office, warehouse or multi-unit property? HawkVision Pro supplies professional CCTV cameras, PoE NVRs, hybrid DVRs, surveillance hard drives and installation accessories to Leicester from our Sheffield base. We are an equipment supplier rather than a physical Leicester branch, so this page focuses on choosing a compatible system and ordering the right hardware for delivery.

A dependable CCTV system is designed as a complete recording chain. Camera resolution matters, but it should be considered alongside field of view, night-time performance, audio, smart detection, recorder bandwidth, PoE power and the number of days of footage you need to retain.

Choosing CCTV cameras for a Leicester property

Start with the purpose of each camera position. An entrance or loading point may need identification detail, while a larger yard, shop floor or reception area may benefit from wider coverage. Night-time lighting and mounting angle also affect the useful detail you will get from a camera.

PoE camera options for new wired systems

Compare our current PoE IP CCTV cameras. Check lens coverage, audio, night illumination and smart-event requirements rather than choosing by megapixels alone.

8-channel or 16-channel NVR for Leicester?

Choose an NVR around the camera count required now and realistic future expansion. Also check supported resolution, incoming bandwidth, PoE port count, total PoE power and storage support.

Browse current PoE NVR recorders or send us the exact camera list before ordering.

New PoE installation or analogue CCTV upgrade?

For a new wired installation

PoE is often a straightforward architecture because compatible cameras can receive power and network data through Ethernet. Plan cable routes, recorder location, switch capacity and PoE budget before mounting cameras. Use suitable all-copper cable for permanent PoE runs and protect external terminations from weather.

When coaxial CCTV cable is already installed

If existing coaxial cable remains serviceable, a compatible analogue camera and DVR upgrade can sometimes retain the cable infrastructure. The ANNKE DW81KN 8-channel hybrid DVR and ANNKE CR1CW 5MP Smart Dual Light analogue camera are current options for suitable upgrade projects. Check the existing DVR model, signal format and resolution before buying.

CCTV for Leicester homes, retail and commercial sites

Homes

Prioritise entrances, side access, driveways and other approach routes where useful identification is likely to be required. Good positioning is usually more valuable than adding unnecessary cameras.

Shops and customer-facing premises

Separate coverage for entrances, service areas, stock areas and external access. A wide-view camera can reduce blind areas indoors, while an entrance may need more focused identification detail.

Warehouses and larger premises

For larger systems, plan switching, NVR bandwidth, PoE capacity and storage together. Leaving sensible spare channels can make later expansion easier without unnecessarily oversizing the system.

Plan surveillance storage before installation

Storage depends on camera count, resolution, bitrate, frame rate, compression, recording schedule and retention target. Current surveillance-drive options include the Seagate SkyHawk 4TB ST4000VX016 and Seagate SkyHawk 6TB ST6000VX008. Check the recorder's supported drive capacity before purchase.

Mounting and installation hardware

Plan junction boxes, brackets, suitable cable and weather-protected connections with the cameras. Browse CCTV brackets and junction boxes and CCTV installation accessories.

Leicester CCTV FAQs

Do you supply CCTV equipment to Leicester?

Yes. We supply cameras, NVRs, DVRs, surveillance hard drives and installation accessories to Leicester from our Sheffield base.

Do you have a CCTV shop in Leicester?

No. HawkVision Pro is Sheffield-based. Leicester customers can order equipment for delivery and ask us to check compatibility before purchase.

Should I choose an 8-channel or 16-channel NVR?

Choose around current camera count, realistic expansion, resolution, bandwidth and PoE requirements. Eight channels can suit smaller systems; 16 channels provide more expansion capacity.

Can I keep old coaxial CCTV cable?

Potentially. If the cable is serviceable and the replacement cameras and DVR use compatible formats and resolutions, retaining it can be practical.

How much hard-drive capacity do I need?

It depends on camera count, bitrate, resolution, frame rate, compression, recording mode and retention period.
