ANNKE N96PBH 16-Channel 12MP PoE NVR Recorder
Explore the product design and its key installation details before choosing the right model for your security system.
Why Choose the ANNKE N96PBH?
The N96PBH is a professional 16 channel PoE recorder for customers who need room to expand, high resolution recording and more advanced search and analytics.
How many cameras can it support?
It supports up to 16 IP cameras and provides 16 built in PoE ports. Each directly connected camera can receive power and data through one network cable.
Why choose it instead of an 8 channel NVR?
The additional channels give you space to add cameras later without replacing the recorder. This matters for shops, offices, warehouses and larger homes where the system may grow over time.
What does 12MP support mean?
The recorder can accept compatible cameras with recording resolutions up to 12MP. Actual live view and playback capacity depends on the number of cameras, their resolution, frame rate and which AI functions are enabled.
Why does it cost more than a basic 16 channel recorder?
You are paying for 16 integrated PoE ports, two hard drive bays, higher decoding capacity, Gigabit networking, alarm connections and advanced functions including Motion Detection 2.0, perimeter events and supported face workflows.
Who should buy this model?
It is best for customers planning between 9 and 16 cameras, or anyone who wants a smaller system now with sensible room for expansion.
What do you receive for the price?
- 16 camera capacity
- 16 built in PoE ports
- Recording support up to 12MP
- Two hard drive bays
- Smart search and supported AI functions
- 4K HDMI output and remote viewing

Designed for compatible IP cameras. AI functions and available channels depend on the camera, resolution and recorder settings. Please contact us before ordering if you need confirmation for an existing system.
Can the N96PBH support specialist fire or temperature monitoring?
The N96PBH supports high-sensitivity fire and temperature detection when connected to a compatible specialist IP camera. The specialist camera provides the required sensing and analytics, and the NVR can receive, record and manage supported fire, heat and temperature events across the surveillance system. Published NRP1612 functionality supports compatible camera-side smart events; correct camera selection, firmware, event linkage and alarm configuration are essential.
ANNKE’s dedicated I81HT fire and temperature detection camera provides smoke/flame analytics and temperature-based alarms. Before deployment, Hawk Vision Pro should confirm video compatibility, PoE requirements, event handling, alarm I/O and the intended viewing software.
Why use a 16-channel mixed-camera system?
-
I91DS cameras can provide native 4K evidence, human/vehicle classification and active deterrence around general security zones.
- Specialist cameras can be reserved for plant rooms, storage areas or other defined risk locations.
- Sixteen PoE channels and two SATA bays provide room for a larger, expandable installation.
Safety note: camera analytics are supplementary monitoring tools and are not a replacement for compliant fire alarms, smoke detectors or professional life-safety design.
Recommended ANNKE PoE cameras for the ANNKE N96PBH
The six ANNKE cameras below are practical pairing options for standard IP video, live view and recording with the ANNKE N96PBH, within the recorder’s published resolution, channel and bandwidth limits. This recorder provides built-in PoE camera ports for direct power and data connection. Check the number of physical PoE ports, total PoE budget and planned camera count before installation.
These combinations are recommended from HawkVision Pro’s practical installation experience and the requirements customers most often bring us. Keeping the camera and recorder within the ANNKE ecosystem generally delivers a higher level of setup harmony, easier device discovery and more predictable support than a mixed-brand ONVIF system.
HawkVision Pro First ChoiceFeatured 4K PoE camera
Our first-choice 4K camera for an excellent balance of native image detail, useful deterrence features and value. The I91DS is a popular choice with installers and customers who want dependable 4K evidence without moving to a much higher price tier.
- Native 3840 × 2160 4K/8MP video
- AI human and vehicle detection
- Smart Dual Light, siren and strobe deterrence
- Two-way audio, PoE and IP67 outdoor protection
To see the full 4K detail: use a compatible 4K television or monitor and select a supported 4K output setting on the recorder. A lower-resolution display cannot show all the detail captured by an 8MP camera.
Recommended for standard IP video, live view and recording within this recorder’s published resolution and bandwidth limits. Camera-side AI, two-way audio, siren, strobe and Smart Dual Light controls can depend on recorder model, firmware and channel settings.

Important compatibility definition: standard video recording compatibility does not automatically guarantee every advanced camera feature on every recorder. Two-way audio, camera-side AI/smart events, active deterrence, white-light controls, panoramic display and PT control may depend on the NVR firmware and channel configuration. Contact HawkVision Pro before ordering if any of these functions is essential.
Which cable gives the most reliable PoE connection?
Use genuine solid-copper Cat6 cable, correctly terminated and tested. Avoid CCA cable. A standard Ethernet channel is normally limited to 100 metres end to end; for outdoor routes use a suitable outdoor-rated cable and weatherproof the RJ45 connection.
Why are these pairings recommended?
All six cameras use standard network video, H.265/H.265+ encoding and IEEE 802.3af PoE, and their 3K, 8MP or 12MP resolutions sit within this recorder’s published camera-resolution capability. Final system design should still account for total incoming bandwidth, decoding limits, simultaneous playback requirements and PoE power budget.
