CCTV Halifax | PoE Cameras, NVRs & DVRs | HawkVision Pro

Planning CCTV for a Halifax home, shop, office, workshop or larger property? HawkVision Pro supplies PoE IP cameras, analogue cameras, NVRs, DVRs, surveillance storage and installation accessories to Halifax from our Sheffield base. We supply equipment for delivery and do not claim a separate physical Halifax branch.

Where a CCTV system has exposed cable routes, detached areas or longer network paths, careful planning of cable distance, switching, weather protection and recorder bandwidth becomes particularly important.

CCTV cameras for Halifax properties

Choose the camera around the scene and the evidence required. Entrances may need tighter identification detail, while a larger yard or open internal area may benefit from wider coverage.

Longer cable routes and distributed PoE cameras

Ethernet and PoE have practical distance and power limits. For permanent installations, use suitable all-copper Ethernet cable and plan the network before pulling cable. If cameras are distributed around different areas, a correctly positioned PoE switch can reduce unnecessary cable runs.

Where a network connection must span a distance or environment that is not appropriate for a normal copper Ethernet run, a fibre link between suitable network devices can be considered, with PoE delivered locally to the camera group. The exact design should be checked against the site requirements and hardware.

Choosing an NVR for Halifax

The ANNKE N98PBK 8-channel 12MP PoE NVR includes eight built-in PoE ports and can suit smaller systems. The ANNKE N96PBH 16-channel 12MP PoE NVR provides more channel capacity for larger systems.

Weather-protected terminations and mounting

Outdoor reliability depends heavily on the cable termination and mounting arrangement. Protect connectors from moisture, use suitable junction boxes where required and avoid leaving plugs or couplers exposed. Browse CCTV mounting brackets and junction boxes and CCTV installation accessories.

Analogue CCTV upgrades

Existing coaxial infrastructure can still be useful when it is in good condition. The ANNKE DW81KN 8-channel hybrid DVR and ANNKE CR1CW 5MP Smart Dual Light analogue camera are current options for suitable upgrade projects. Check the existing signal format and supported resolution before ordering.

Surveillance storage

Retention depends on camera count, resolution, bitrate, frame rate, compression and recording schedule. Current options include the Seagate SkyHawk 4TB ST4000VX016 and Seagate SkyHawk 6TB ST6000VX008. Confirm the recorder's supported drive capacity before purchase.

Halifax CCTV FAQs

Can I use a PoE switch for cameras away from the NVR?

Often yes. The switch needs adequate ports, PoE power and uplink capacity, and the NVR must have enough channels and incoming bandwidth.

Can fibre be used in an IP CCTV network?

Yes, where appropriate network hardware is used. Fibre can carry the network link while PoE is provided locally to cameras through a compatible switch.

Do you have a physical CCTV shop in Halifax?

No. We are Sheffield-based and supply Halifax by delivery.
